Acer RM300 cheaper
Acer no preinstall OS - Dell WinXP Pro License
At the moment, I'm leaning toward Acer coz
1) 15" display
2) 6 hours battery life
3) not a heavy gamer - prefer PS2
4) RM300 saving can use to upgrade to 512mb Ram
5) LEGAL
6) License not an issue, as if I'm gonna buy legal Ms Office ! just because I have legal Xp.
Any thought appreciated.

Forget Dell if you are going for Inspiron class.
Dell is famous for the 3 years on-site warrenty. No point going for Inspiron that offers only 1 year warrenty.
If you want to go for Dell, go for Latitude or Precision
